Sr. Mary Robert Reilly RDC, a Sister of the Divine Compassion, died peacefully on July 12, 2023.
Sr. Mary Robert was born in 1937 in New York the daughter of William and Agnes (O’Neill) Reilly. She attended St. Barnabas Elementary and High School and graduated from Good Counsel College in 1959. Sister also received an MA from Fairfield University.
Sister Mary Robert spent her career as an elementary teacher and administrator. Her first assignment was at St. Anthony’s School in East White Plains followed by Good Counsel Academy, White Plains, Sacred Heart, Hartsdale and other school assignments with the longest being at St. John the Baptist in Yonkers where she served for 35 years!
Sr. Laura Donovan, President of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion said, “Let us pray in thanksgiving for Sister’s rich and generous life as a dedicated elementary school educator and administrator.”
Sister Mary Robert is survived by her Sisters of the Divine Compassion, her niece Elizabeth Rodrigues, cousin Dr. Thomas Farrel and her dear friend, Corinne O’Toole.
Sister was predeceased by her parents and her brother, John.
