Virus invisible, hidden, unrestrained
by borders, calendars, expectations.
Unknown presence
even when it swells around us.
We rail against what we cannot see
while we check its story, find distraction,
work at home on devices of invisible power.
Not used to looking at what our eyes don't see
we miss who's faceless, voiceless, homeless
or what's turned wrong in water, earth and air.
In our dread and in our grieving
let's wake up to healing sight,
open eyes to see
to see us all as one.
