Many thanks to Maria Provenzano, Wartburg’s Director of Adult Day Services, who nominated Sr. Christine to Westchester County’s Senior Hall of Fame.
Sister is an advocate for many of the residents in the memory care unit. She addresses their spiritual needs and leads those residents in praying the Rosary every Sunday. Sr. Christine is also an Eucharistic Minister and administers Communion to Wartburg residents unable to attend Mass due to cognitive or physical challenges. Sister assists Wartburg residents who are unable to shop for necessities by accompanying them to the store or shopping on their behalf. Additionally, Sr. Christine maintains the garden at Meadowview, which is enjoyed by all.
“Sr. Christine sees a need and very quietly finds a way to open her heart and fulfill that need,” Ms. Provenzano said.
“We congratulate and thank our Sr. Christine for all she does for others, her attentive care of the garden, and for being a compassionate presence of God where she lives,” the Sisters of the Divine Compassion Leadership Team added.
Congratulations to all of the Westchester County Senior Citizens who were inducted to the 2022 Senior Hall of Fame!
