Sister Noreen Horan, RDC (formerly Sr. Mary Augustine), a member of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, died peacefully on October 13, 2012.
Sister Noreen was born in New Jersey on October 9, 1927, the daughter of Raymond and Marie (Davis) Horan. She entered the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, White Plains, on September 8, 1948 and professed her final vows on March 6, 1954.
Sr. Mary Christopher O’Toole, RDC
Sr. Mary Christopher O’Toole, RDC, a member of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, died peacefully on June 18, 2011 at Good Counsel Convent in White Plains.
Sister Christopher was born in New York on February 25, 1923 the daughter of Michael and Emily (Farrell) O’Toole. She entered the Sisters of the Divine Compassion on February 4, 1943 and professed her final vows on August 15, 1948.
Sr. Freda Burns, RDC
Sr. Freda Burns, RDC (formerly known as Sr. Mary Victorian), a member of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, died peacefully on February 28, 2011 at Good Counsel Convent in White Plains. Sister Freda was born in New York on January 7, 1917 the daughter of Fred and Jessie (Goodspeed) Burns. She entered the Sisters of the Divine Compassion in 1940 and professed her final vows in 1948. Sister Freda attended Good Counsel College and graduated with a degree in English. She continued her studies at Fordham University and received the M.A. in English.
Sr. Alice Shannon, RDC
Sr. Alice Shannon, RDC (formerly known as Sr. Mary Imelda), a member of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, died peacefully on January 22 at Good Counsel Convent in White Plains. Sister Alice was born in the Bronx on February 11, 1922 the daughter of John and Alice (Herily) Shannon. She entered the Sisters of the Divine Compassion in 1939 and professed her final vows in 1947. Sister Alice attended Good Counsel Academy and graduated from Good Counsel College with a BA in Mathematics.
Sr. Angelica Hewson, RDC
Sr. Mary Angelica Hewson, RDC (formerly known as Dorothy M. Hewson), a member of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, died peacefully on July 30, 2010 at Good Counsel Convent in White Plains.
Sister Angelica was born in New York on January 26, 1926 the daughter of Thomas Hewson and Agnes (McCormack) Hewson. She entered the Sisters of the Divine Compassion in 1944 and professed her final vows in 1950.
Sr. Dolores Mascali, RDC
Sister Dolores Mascali, RDC, (formerly known as Sr. Mary Bonaventure), a member of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, died peacefully on July 22, 2010. Sister Dolores was born in the Bronx on July 1, 1936, the daughter of Santo Michael Mascali, and Angelina (Mercer) Mascali. She entered the Sister of the Divine Compassion and professed her final vows on April 26, 1962. Sister Dolores attended Preston High School in the Bronx and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Good Counsel College in 1960 and a M.A. in Religious Studies from Manhattanville College in 1971. She received an M.S.
Sr. Patricia Graham, RDC
Sister Patricia Graham, RDC, (formerly Sr. Mary Edmund), a member of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, died peacefully on December 18, 2009. Sister Pat was born in the Bronx on May 7, 1938, the daughter of William and Ellen (Crotty) Graham. She entered the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, White Plains, on September 3, 1956 and professed her final vows on April 4, 1964. Sister Patricia attended St. Frances deChantal Elementary School and Preston High School, Bronx, NY.
Sr. Catherine Keeley, RDC
Sister Catherine Keeley, RDC (formerly Sr. Mary Consolata), a Sister of the Divine Compassion, died peacefully at Good Counsel Convent on July 2, 2009. Sister Catherine was born in Trenton, New Jersey on March 3, 1918, the daughter of Thomas and Helen (Barrett) Keeley. She entered the Sisters of the Divine Compassion February 2, 1937 and professed her final vows August 15, 1945. Sr. Catherine attended St. Mary's Elementary School in Bordentown and Cathedral High School in Trenton, New Jersey.
Sr. Loretta Carey, RDC
Sr. Loretta Carey, RDC (formerly Sr. Mary Thomas) a member of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, died peacefully on June 4, 2009 at Good Counsel Convent in White Plains, NY. Sr. Loretta was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 9, 1928, the daughter of Leo F. and Loretta O'Connor Carey. Sister Loretta attended St. Agnes Seminary Elementary and High School in Brooklyn before entering Good Counsel College in White Plains where she obtained the Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 1951; and she earned the Master of Arts degree in English from St. John's University in 1955.
Sr. Joan Haley, RDC
Sister Mary Joan Haley, RDC, a member of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, died peacefully at Good Counsel Convent on Friday, April 10, 2009. Sister Mary Joan was born in Brooklyn on June 22, 1917, the daughter of Patrick and Helen (Collins) Haley. Sister Joan had two siblings, Ruth and Thomas who predeceased her. Sister Joan entered the Sisters of the Divine Compassion on August 15, 1933 and made her final profession on August 15, 1941. She was a graduate of both Good Counsel Academy High School and Good Counsel College. She received an M.S.
Sr. Eileen Donahue, RDC
Sister Eileen Donahue (formerly Sr. Mary Eulalia) RDC, a member of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, died peacefully on August 27, 2008 at White Plains Hospital. Sister Eileen was born in Waterbury, Ct. on May 16, 1921, the daughter of Thomas and Anastatia Donahue. Eileen had three siblings, Thomas, Mary and James, who was killed in combat in World War II. Sister Eileen entered the Sisters of the Divine Compassion on August 15, 1939. She attended Waterbury Catholic High School and received a BA degree from Good Counsel College in 1945.

Sister Eleanor Mullane (formerly Sr. Mary Concepta), RDC, a member of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, died peacefully on Friday, March 21, 2008. She was 72. Sr. Eleanor was born in the Bronx, November 26, 1935, the daughter of Stephen P. Mullane and Olga Mrkvicka Mullane. She entered the Sisters of the Divine Compassion on August 15, 1953 and made final profession on April 6, 1961. Sr. Eleanor attended St. Raymond's Elementary School and Preston High School in the Bronx. She received her B.A. degree in Mathematics from Good Counsel College and an M.A.
