Responding to recent acts of vandalism categorized as hate crimes, organizers of Not In Our Town gathered Westchester County residents and workers at the MLK statue in downtown White Plains on Tuesday. Over two hundred people including Sisters and Associates of the Divine Compassion listened to spiritual leaders’ and politicians’ simple and clear message: our Westchester County community will not tolerate hate in any form, and will continue to gather and take peaceful action in the face of bigotry, bias, racism or exclusion however overt or subtle.
