The POETRY CARAVAN together with Westchester libraries invited the public to celebrate National Poetry Month (April) with readings in 4 different Westchester libraries, ie.e., Mt. Pleasant, Scarsdale, Dobbs Ferry and Hastings.

On April 22nd Caravan members Sr. Doretta Cornella and Sr. Alice Feeley read some of their own poetry for an audience at the Dobbs Ferry Library.  Two other poets, Llyn Clague of Hastings and Sandy Haus of Yonkers, also read original poetry at this event.  Open Mic was part of the afternoon, an opportunity for writers in the audience to share a poem or two after the scheduled readings. Refreshments and conversation followed the poetry readings.

The Poetry Caravan, founded at the beginning of this century, is a volunteer organization of 35 Westchester poets who bring poetry to hospitals, senior centers, nursing homes, and similar venues where access to the written word is limited.  For further information visit
