On Sunday, March 19th, The RDC Center for Counseling & Human Development held their annual fundraiser, The Friendly Gathering. Approximately 300 were in attendance and it was a joyous and successful event!! This event helps provide needed funds that enable The RDC Center to continue its mission to “provide affordable counseling in an atmosphere of welcome.”
The Friendly Gathering is a fundraising evening offering a traditional Irish meal, Irish music and dancing, a live auction, raffle and Lucky Shamrock auction. Something for everyone and most especially a gathering of friends!
Each year there two honorees are honored. The Msgr. Ed O’Brien Community Service Award was given to The Food Bank for Westchester, who for the past 28 years have been leading the fight against hunger in Westchester. Leslie Gordon, new CEO of The Food Bank received the award. The second honoree, who received the Sr. Joan Haley Spirit of Compassion award was Kate Bialo and The Furniture Sharehouse. 10 years ago Kate founded The Furniture Sharehouse and ever since then they have been helping to make a house a home for thousands of families in need in Westchester. Kate received this award. These two wonderful organizations have spread compassion throughout our county; and we thank them.
This year The RDC Center for Counseling & Human Development celebrates its 25th Anniversary of service in the White Plains and surrounding communities and we plan to continue our mission into the future. Thank you for being part of our future!
